Tonight we are seeing: Thick & Tight

Thick & Tight return to The Lowry with Short & Sweet, an amuse-bouche platter of 9 new works designed to excite, provoke and satisfy.

Created by Eleanor Perry & Daniel Hay-Gordon, this thoroughly modern variety show mixes dance, drag, lip-syncing and satire.âShort & Sweet brings a host of famous and infamous characters to life: Sid Vicious, Twiggy, Grace Jones, Rasputin, Edith Sitwell and everyone’s favourite avant-garde duo, John Cage & Elaine Paige. The evening includes a preview of new work inspired by Japanese Noh theatre, commissioned by the Noh Reimaged Festival.

Thick & Tight are joined by an incredible line-up of artists: Corali Dance Company, Harry Alexander, Oxana Panchenko, Azara Meghie and Connor Scott, with designs by Tim Spooner, Pam Tait and Darren Evans. Stage Manager: Carly Hook.

Thick & Tight is an award-winning British dance theatre company created by Eleanor Perry and Daniel Hay-Gordon. Their work takes influence from a wide range of historical, political, literary and artistic subjects, with a focus on promoting queer culture and accessibility within dance.

What our members say.

I really enjoy theatre and especially musicals but often my friends are not interested. It was great to finally find people who not only didn’t mind me singing along to Rock of Ages, but joined in with me! Paulette.

Thank you for arranging for us to see The Play that Goes Wrong. My sides still hurt from laughing. Great company and host, as always. William.
