Route: Edale – Brown Knoll – Edale Moor – Grindsbrook – Edale
Duration: 5 hours
Difficulty level: 3.5 (steep descent)
Transport: Car share
A rewarding Sunday walk finished by hearty dinner in the Rambler’s Inn in Edale, this route climbs over the Vale of Edale on the right of the mighty Mam Tor. We’ll then walk along the Windy Knoll (and hopefully see a glider or two) then cross the moor of Brown Knoll and admire the views of the valley below before getting to the Kinder plateau and crossing over Edale (passing by some fabulous rock formations along the way) to Grindsbrook for a steep descent to the warm pub.
Kit list: warm clothes, hat, gloves, waterproofs, walking boots, walking poles, gaiters (Brown Knoll is very boggy), packed lunch, tea/coffee flask
