Today we are of to a Beginners Photography Workshop

Have you got a fancy camera that you've only ever used on auto?

Has it been on your to-do list to learn how to use your camera in 'manual'?

Would you like to learn how to take images that you can be in total control of?

Join photographer Rebecca Lupton for a session on the basic principals of photography and getting to grips with your camera.

This workshop will cover the basics of using a camera in 'Manual' including ISO, aperture and shutter speed, composition, depth of field, colour balance and focussing. Learn about simple lighting and composition, and pick up tips specifically for portraiture.

Aimed at relative beginners, it is essential that you bring a camera to this session. It is recommended that before the event you familiarise yourself with where 'aperture', 'shutter speed' and 'ISO' are found on your camera and how to adjust these settings.

"Rebecca Lupton is a Photographer based in Manchester. She works predominantly as an Editorial portrait photographer for national newspapers and publishing houses including the Guardian. Interested primarily in people and portraiture Rebecca uses photography to tell stories and document experiences.

In addition to commercial work she carries out personal social documentary projects exploring peoples’ daily lives. One example is her online project, ‘The Mothers’ (www.the-mothers.co.uk). Recently, she also carried out the photography for the ‘Heart and Parcel’ cookbook. Examples of her work can be seen here https://www.rebeccalupton.co.uk

The workshop will take place in the newly opened 'Unit 23' run by 'Studio DBD' (http://www.studiodbd.com) in The Square Shopping Centre, Sale. Instagram: @weareopensale @studiodbd

What our Members say:
Going to a music festival was one of my ‘bucket list’ activities to try. Admittedly I had something like Glastonbury in mind but when I saw a local music festival on the calendar I signed up straight away. I had a lot of fun. Thanks for a great time. Julie.

I have never been to a murder mystery party, and wasn’t sure whether it was my cup of tea but I was roped into it by other members. It was a fun evening with plenty of laughs. I would definitely recommend giving it a try. Pete.
