With its breathtaking vistas, the Dove Stone area of Saddleworth offers visitors the chance to explore part of the Peak District National Park. Join us at Dovestone Reservoir, its an ideal place to go for a leisurely 5 mile Sunday walk. Our walk starts from the Car Park at Dovestone Reservoir. We’ll walk towards Yeoman Hey Reservoir then walk towards Greenfield reservoir. We’ll then take a steep path following a brook with numerous waterfalls into Birchen Clough.

At the top we will then pass Trinnacle and then Raven Stones, We’ll then reach higher ground overlooking the Yeoman Hey Dam before our descent back across the dam to the start.

If the weather is kind to us we’ll have a picnic at the half way point so we can confirm the day before whether pack lunches are required, if the weather isn’t so favourable we can find a local pub for Sunday lunch instead.

Just 30 minutes a day of walking will improve your health and wellbeing. By becoming more active you will have a great sense of achievement, more energy, sleep better and reduce your stress levels.

Kit list: hat, gloves, warm clothes, waterproof jacket and trousers, walking trousers walking boots as may be slippy tea flask.
