Luxury Low-Level Walking Weekend in The Beautiful Lake District: 28th-29th January
You won’t suffer with the January blues when you have this fantastic weekend to look forward to! The Lake District is beautiful no matter what time of year it is so come and join us for a 2 day and 1 overnight stay in Windermere.
After travelling over to Windermere on Saturday morning we will be taking a short circular walk from Windermere to Orrest Head. The short 20 minute journey to the summit will reveal stunning views across the county. The journey back down will take us through a delightful woodland section through St Catherine's Wood and then via High Hay Wood back to the start. This 3 mile walk will take approximately 1 hour and 20 minute, by which time we’ll be ready for lunch!
Acomodation
After lunch we will be checking in the Macdonald Old England 4* Hotel & Spa on the shores of Lake Windermere. The Macdonald Old England Hotel & Spa has an award-winning restaurant, luxury beauty spa and scenic views. The rooms at Old England Hotel each have a flat-screen TV and tea/coffee facilities with mineral water. The bathrooms feature fluffy robes and free toiletries. The modern leisure centre features a fully equipped gym and 20-metre swimming pool. Guests can relax in the ice room, sauna or aroma steam room, and try indulgent treatments in the beauty salon.

Once we are all checked into the hotel, there are plenty of options for the afternoon whether it be chilling out in the spa, visiting Beatrix Potter’s Exhibition, a meander around the shops or finding a nice local pub.
Saturday evening we will be heading out for dinner and a pub crawl around Bowness-on-Windermere so make sure you pack you glad rags.
The fun doesn’t end there as we will be venturing out on the lake on Sunday and another short walk before rounding the weekend off with a Sunday roast to set us all up for the journey home.
