Every day, pregnant Nicola goes to the office while Tom works from home as a writer and looks after their lovely daughter. Everything changes in a heartbeat when Tom falls violently ill one night. He initially blames some out-of-date sausages. But after being admitted to hospital, he is eventually diagnosed with sepsis (septicaemia). Swift, brutal and invasive surgery is required to save his life. This places an intense strain on the couple's relationship. Only the enduring strength of their love will hold the family together. Based on a heartbreaking true story, Bill Clark's deeply humane drama is a powerful, unflinching and ultimately uplifting portrait of a marriage in crisis. At its centre are superb, utterly convincing performances by Tom Riley and 'Downton Abbey' star Joanne Froggatt.
