The Film Night is a great way to meet some new people with a passion for cinema and a zest for life.

Two of the hottest contemporary Latino dance performances, including an electrifying makeover of Carmen. Currently marking its 45th anniversary, the world-class New York City-based Ballet Hispanico boasts an enviable repertory that celebrates the diversity of Latino cultures. This latest superb film in the Lincoln Center at the Movies: Great American Dance series showcases two of its audience favourites. Carmen.maquia gives Bizet's iconic opera a fiery and sensual, Picasso-inspired modern reworking as a full-length narrative dance performance. Hailed by the Chicago Sun-Times as a masterpiece, it's brilliantly choreographed by Spaniard Gustavo Ramirez Sansano, who fuses contemporary dance with nods to the Spanish paso doble and flamenco. The second piece is Club Havana, in which choreographer Pedro Ruiz brings vividly to life a sizzling Cuban nightclub, vibrating to the intoxicating rhythms of the conga, rumba, mambo and cha cha. The film also includes rehearsal footage and behind-the-scenes interviews with the dancers.
