This former railway hotel has transformed itself in recent years into an airy characterful building with restaurant, bar, library, TV lounge and -- the most recent addition -- an all-year-round al fresco bar with canopies and heaters. Enjoy good wine and beer with a lively, cosmopolitan crowd.
In the ten years since the ‘Met’ first opened its doors, the pub has grown with the community, providing the well-travelled residents of the area with a ‘local’ comparable to anything in the country.
The beer’s not bad either with Timmy Taylor’s ‘Landlord’ and Caledonian Deuchars IPA on draught. Various continental lagers from the Czech republic, Germany and Belgium, real cloudy cider and, of course, the ever present, Guinness Extra Cold all on tap.
We will also be paying a visit to some of the other drinking holes in the area, which just may include The Railway.
