A clever combination of local history and industrial design paired with food and drink inspired by trade connections from Manchester’s merchant past, Cottonopolis Food & Liquor, housed in a grade II listed building, is looking like an exciting and interesting addition to not only the Northern Quarter but Manchester’s bar and restaurant scene as a whole. Located at 16 Newton Street, Cottonopolis certainly offers something different to the area. The cocktail menu has been designed by the award winning bar consultant Jamie Jones and features bespoke contemporary cocktails with inspiration from traditional culture blended with the modern, neon energy of downtown Tokyo set in an industrial Manchester setting. Situated above the bar are two Krusovice tanks holding 880 pints each. Below, fridges are stocked with a selection of 12 locally sourced and European bottled beers.
