The Cheshire Plain provides a contrast to walking the upland moors, which have their own attraction but can seem bleak and barren. Nearby North-East Cheshire can seem leafy and loaded although we’re a little bit south of the classic “footballer” Cheshire on this walk.
We will start and finish at the highly regarded Swettenham Arms (http://www.swettenhamarms.co.uk/), just east of Holmes Chapel, walking a loop northwards and passing close by Jodrell.
The length of the walk is just over 8 miles with no big hills. Please bring trainers to change into for the pub/ride home in case it's muddy. There will be cake and we will get a well deserved meal in the pub afterwards. Kit list: hat, gloves, warm clothes, waterproof jacket and trousers, walking trousers walking boots as may be slippy tea flask. Car sharing available. Regular walking can... fill you with energy and confidence help you beat stress make your heart fitter and strengthen your bones help you keep your weight down
