Even if you're not in the least bit a church goer, you might find it fascinating that in 1970 a number of local churches got together and erected a surprising large cross on the highest part of Cobden Edge overlooking Mellor. This walk starts and finishes in Disley, which is conveniently close by given the short days at this time of year. We'll walk a loop over hills and tracks - nothing too strenuous, and take a look at this monument on the way. The view from there is fantastic. Naturally there will be cake and we'll get a slap-up dinner afterwards at the Ram's Head. Please don't leave it until the last minute to book as we may find it difficult to increase numbers at the pub given the time of year.
Car sharing available. Kit list: hat, gloves, warm clothes, waterproof jacket and trousers, walking trousers walking boots as may be slippy tea flask.
