Nightcrawler star Jake Gyllenhaal turns boxer for this emotional, gritty drama. Billy Hope (Jake Gyllenhaal) is a boxer at the peak of his fame who has nevertheless decided to announce his retirement. However, Billy's world is shattered when his wife Maureen (Rachel McAdams) is killed in a car accident. Subsequently spiralling into a cycle of self-destruction, his young daughter Leila (Oona Laurence) is then taken into protective custody. Billy's only shot at redemption is to climb back into the ring for one final bout. Working with personal trainer 'Tick' (Forrest Whitaker), Billy sets out to prove himself and be reunited with his daughter. This powerful drama from Training Day director Antoine Fuqua features another incendiary, mercurial performance from Jake Gyllenhaal, who recently stunned with his Oscar nominated performance in Nightcrawler. Among the excellent supporting cast are Skyfall actress Naomie Harris and rapper Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson.
