Rhubarb is situated in the foodie haven of Burton Road in West Didsbury and was established in 2002 by husband & wife, Mark & Lisa Ramsden. Mark, a chef of twenty years experience has created a contemporary & eclectic menu which has defined this independent restaurant. Starters Asparagus, Green Vegetable and Chicken Soup Finished with cream, parmesan and basil oil Porcini Mushroom Risotto Porcini mushroom Risotto dresses with truffle oil & Parmesan cheese Feta cheese, watermelon & mint salad with a lime dressing Chicken liver parfait with roast onion jam, ciabatta croutes & dressed leaves Bury black pudding served with salad leaves, free - range poached egg & wholegrain mustard dressing Main Courses Delemere goats cheese & griddled polenta cakes Served with roasted peppers, red onion & asparagus & a tomato & basil salsa Pan fried fillet of Salmon Served on a warm new potato & rocket salad in a lemon crème fraiche dressing. Finished with a roast pepper, herb and olive salsa Free range breast of Cumbrian chicken Pan fried and served on a caramelised red onion mash with a white wine and cream sauce Roast Sirloin of Beef (Sunday only!) The staff are friendly and efficient and I like the fact that the wait times between courses are never too short or too long.
