We offer a range of events to suit the more culturally minded among you, including local venues such as Manchester Art Gallery and the Museum of Science and Industry. If the idea of exploring what's just beyond Manchester, we have opportunities for you to enjoy a day out in cities such as York and Chester, home to some of the most iconic buildings in the country. You will meet some fantastic people at these events, too, with many of our members embracing their cultural side every bit as much as they love socialising.

York Minste Cultural Experience

I had always wanted to visit York but it was just one of those places I had never gotten around to visiting. When I saw Social Circle were organising a day there, I had no excuses. I had a wonderful day, visiting such monuments as York Minster. Don't get me wrong, I still love a drink or two on a Friday night, but I love the odd cultural experience, too.

Manchester Art Gallery

I have always been an art lover and the chance to go and see some of the amazing paintings they have at Manchester Art Gallery with some new friends was too good to pass up. I may love art but I also love a glass of wine so the promise of drinks afterwards didn't hurt either. We had a really interesting chat about an exhibition we had just seen over some fine Prosecco. What a great night!

Manchester Museum

There are some great museums in Manchester but it's not half as much fun going on your own so it was great to see the Manchester Museum on the calendar. I hadn't been there for years and really enjoyed meeting new people while walking through the exhibits. Throw in some tasty lunch at the museum cafe and it really was a fantastic day.

Types Of Event

Art Galleries

We pay regular visits to Manchester Art Gallery, typically with a drink or two afterwards so our members can both appreciate the art adorning the walls and catch up on socialising afterwards. We also visit other local galleries, such as the Whitworth Art Gallery.

There are some great museums in Manchester, such as the Manchester Museum, one of the finest natural history museums in the UK. There is also the People’s History Museum at Spinningfields. Perhaps the most popular among our members is the Museum of Science and Industry.

Days Out

Not that there is a shortage of things to do in Manchester but it's nice to visit nearby cities occasionally. Our members enjoy visits to such cultural cities as Chester and York, where history, religion, and famous battles pervade the local landmarks.
