An afternoon of Dim Sum tasting with some new Manchester friends.
A very flexible afternoon in terms of the menu items. There'll be a cart/trolley system whereby the food is pushed around the restaurant for you to select at your leisure. This makes things very accessible, in terms of being able to see what you are ordering to compliment the menu! The host will take the lead and order some of the most typical dishes, including har gau, siu mai, cha siu bun, all of which are served in bamboo steamers and in little bitesizes which make them ideal for communal dining. There are various bits of etiquette that you will find interesting, and you will also be given the background on the cuisine itself (from the occasions to the ingredients etc).
A few things to note about the nature of dim sum: Tai Wu is famed for its world of fine Cantonese cuisine in the elegant surroundings of their beautiful restaurant in Manchester City Centre and is the ideal host for this tasting session. The cost is £12 per head including soft drinks.
